Terms of Service
The rules for using Alert My Car, our website, QR stickers, alerts and related services.
1. About Alert My Car
Alert My Car provides a vehicle alert and contact support platform that helps people report vehicle-related issues and helps vehicle keepers receive useful alerts. You can contact us at mail@alertmycar.com.
2. Using our services
You must use Alert My Car lawfully, responsibly and only for genuine vehicle-related communication. You must not misuse the service, submit false reports, harass another person, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with the website, or use the service for spam, fraud or unlawful activity.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it updated. We may suspend or close accounts where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, fraud, security risk or breach of these terms.
4. Stickers, QR codes and vehicle identifiers
Stickers, QR codes or other identifiers must only be used on vehicles you own, control, or have permission to manage. You must not copy, tamper with, resell or misuse any Alert My Car sticker or code.
5. Subscriptions, prices and payments
Paid plans, if offered, will show the price, billing period and key features before you purchase. Payments must be made using the payment methods shown at checkout. We may change prices or plan features, but we will try to give reasonable notice where the change affects an existing subscription.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel a subscription through your account or by contacting us. Cancellation normally stops future renewal and does not automatically refund a period already used, unless required by law or stated at checkout. If you are a UK consumer buying online, you may have statutory cancellation rights, including a 14-day cooling-off period in some cases.
7. User messages and reports
Vehicle alerts and messages may be sent by members of the public. We do not guarantee that every report is accurate, complete or genuine. You should use your own judgement before acting on any alert. In an emergency or where a vehicle is causing danger, contact the relevant emergency services, police, council or local authority.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, suspend or withdraw parts of the website for maintenance, security, business or legal reasons.
9. Intellectual property
The Alert My Car name, branding, website design, text, graphics, software and related materials belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or commercially exploit them without permission.
10. Liability
We do not exclude liability where the law does not allow us to do so. Subject to that, Alert My Car is not responsible for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of data, missed alerts, inaccurate reports, third-party actions, or losses caused by misuse of the service.
11. Privacy
We handle personal data as explained in our Privacy Policy and use cookies as explained in our Cookie Policy.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the laws of the country where you live.
